THE RELAUNCH

It has been almost ten years since Seres Management was founded in January 2013, shortly after my relocation from Beijing, China, back to Vienna. Seres Management started as a one-man company offering an interim service manager for Western subsidiary companies in China during challenging times. Since then, the business model has changed drastically. Now, there is a team of three serving investors and top managers in regard of Asia challenges. The competence region now not only covers China but whole region of Greater China and Southeast Asia. From managing a single entity before to now being in the Boards of holding companies with numerous subsidiaries in Asia, we now offer the adequate package for our clients, may it be the provision of an interim manager, offering strategic management advice, coach investors and top management or filling the role of the Board Director having Asia expertise.

The new business model was presented last weekend in the Bavarian mountains to a selected round of strategic business partners. One of the most important steps here is the launch of the new Seres Management website where we just launched the go live.

CHINA IS OPENING UP

The good news is that China is opening up. Mass testing was almost completely scrapped and citizens will need no more a QR code to enter any public places. Yet, incoming travellers still need to quarantine 7+3 days. Rumour has it that quarantine conditions improved drastically, here better service offerings and food at the quarantine hotels. A full opening up of the country can be expected before mid-2023.

David Schulte

Mr. David SCHULTE, an economist with excellent analytical skills, received his degree in International Business at the University of Business Administration and Economics, Vienna. At the same time, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies at the University of Vienna. As an exchange student, he spent one year at Paradise High School, California, in the United States. David SCHULTE received scholarships to study Chinese language at the Beijing Language and Culture University and to do research for his master thesis in Beijing, China.

After graduation, Mr. David SCHULTE joined the Wuerth Group under the new leadership of Mr. Robert FRIEDMANN, CEO, to drive growth in the PR China which took him to places such as Tianjin, Beijing and Shenyang. He later left the Wuerth Group after receiving an offer to build up a company in China with the Austrian high-tech Getzner Group. In this role, he was responsible for setting up a joint venture company in Kunshan and a sales company in Beijing providing locally produced vibration-dampening products for the high-speed railway.

In 2010, Mr. David Schulte was given an Honorary Citizen of the city of Kunshan Award for his work in the promotion of high-tech companies.

In 2013, he set up Seres Management in Vienna in order to better serve the needs of clients by leading interim management projects in the fields of startup, change, M&A and liquidation. In the Eglo joint venture company in Dongguan (China), with around 1,000 employees, he was the first foreign person working in the Austrian-Chinese JV company. Later, he acted as the interim Vice GM of the biggest global Berndorf Group company, Aichelin China. Further interim postings followed. In parallel, he supported other companies with consultancy and made contributions to the growth of companies in the role of board director.

Currently, David SCHULTE is holding board positions in holding and subsidiary companies in China, Singapore and Thailand. He has been advising some of his clients for almost ten years.

Zhong Wanli

After graduating at the Nanjing Institute of Architectural and Civil Engineering in China, he started as a construction engineer. There he gained an in-depth knowledge of the management of construction projects in a state-dominated and highly competitive sector.

In 2001, Mr. Zhong took the decision to do his MBA at Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences. During his studies at university, he worked as a part time caterer at the airport in Stuttgart (Germany) until 2002. He started his career as a trainee at the Adolf Wuerth KG, and later became the Vice General Manager at Wuerth Hardware & Tools Co. in Shanghai.

In 2005, Mr ZHONG was in charge of the Wuerth Group in Tianjin for a decade with seven bureaus in total. Under ZHONG Wanli’s leadership, the company had a profit increase of up to 30% per year, underlining his excellent leadership and entrepreneurial skills. As the general manager of Wuerth Tianjin, he led Wuerth in Shenyang as well and became the CEO of Wuerth Co. Ltd. in China until 2015.

ZHONG Wanli held a position as a Board Member at the German Chamber of Commerce in Tianjin and since 2015 he has been a successful interim manager and strategic management advisor for Seres Management. Having him in this team, brings someone with deep and reflective knowledge in various industries along with Chinese cultural and leadership background.

EXPERTS: Richard Hoffmann

Mr. Richard Hoffmann is the legal expert for Seres Management and brings extensive knowledge and many years of experience with him. He graduated in law and started his career at a boutique law firm in Heidelberg, Germany and New York, USA. In 2006 he moved to China. In 2012 he became Partner at Ecovis and co-founder of the law and tax firm Ecovis Beijing with over 70 employees, providing financial and legal services, accounting, audit and payroll. Since then, he has been supervising companies from different industry branches successfully, some for over half a decade.

For almost ten years, Richard Hoffmann is one of the six members of the marketing board at ECOVIS International as well as on the quality development board, management board and legal task force.

David Schulte

Als Economist mit exzellenten analytischen Fähigkeiten hat David Schulte einen Abschluss in International Business an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (MBA) und parallel dazu einen Bachelorabschluss in Sinologie at der Universität Wien. Als Austauschstudent verbrachte er ein Jahr an der Paradise High School in Kalifornien, USA. David Schulte hat Stipendien für ein Studium an der Beijing Language and Culture sowie für Forschungen im Rahmen der Masterarbeit „Global Cities – ein Vergleich“ in Peking, China, erhalten.

Nach dem Universitätsabschluss im Jahr 2005 fing Herr Schulte als Projektmanager bei der Würth Gruppe unter der direkten Führung von Herrn Robert Friedmann (CEO) an, um Sonderprojekte wie Change, Neugründungen von Gesellschaften und Standorten (hier Würth Gewerbepark in Shenyang) voranzubringen. Dies führte ihn zu Einsätzen in Tianjin, Peking und Shenyang. Da der Wunsch bestand, als General Manager für den Aufbau einer Gesellschaft in China verantwortlich zu sein, schloss sich David Schulte 2007 der Vorarlberger Getzner Gruppe an. Hier gründete er in Kunshan (China) ein Hightech Joint Venture mit Produktion, um vibrationsdämpfende Lösungen für die Eisenbahnhochgeschwindigkeitsprojekte in China anzubieten (2007). 2010 folgte die Gründung einer Vertriebsgesellschaft in Beijing, hier auch Expansion in den Bereich Bau und Industrie.

2010 wurde Herrn David Schulte für seine Unterstützung und Leistungen im Rahmen der Ansiedlung von Hightech-Unternehmen vom Bürgermeister der Stadt Kunshan die Ehrenbürgerwürde verliehen.

Seit der Gründung von Seres Management in Wien im Jahr 2013 werden die Kunden bei Interim Management Projekten in den Bereichen Startup, Veränderung, Mergers & Acquisition und Liquidation unterstützt. Parallel dazu nimmt er Board Director Positionen und Advisory Projekte wahr, um das Wachstum der Firmen der Klienten in Asien langfristig voranzutreiben.

Im Produktions-Joint Venture in Dongguan von Eglo, Europas größer Anbieter von Leuchten, war David Schulte der erste nichtchinesische Mitarbeiter unter einer Belegschaft von eintausend. Im Anschluss nahm er die Rolle des Interim Vize General Managers bei Aichelin China, der weltweit umsatzstärksten Gesellschaft der Berndorf Gruppe, wahr. Es folgten weitere Interim Management und Beratungsprojekte bei mittelständischen Firmen mit Sitz in Deutschland, Schweiz, Österreich, Irland, USA, Hongkong und Kanada.

Aktuell ist David Schulte als Aufsichtsrat in Holding- und Tochterunternehmen in China, Singapur und Thailand aktiv. Einigen Unternehmen steht er bereits seit über zehn Jahren mit seiner Expertise beiseite.

Herr ZHONG ist seit über zwei Jahrzehnten als Manager tätig und bringt fundierte Leadership-Kenntnisse wie auch operative Erfahrungen mit. Während seines Studiums arbeitete er am Flughafen in Stuttgart (Deutschland).

Als Trainee bei der Adolf Würth KG startete er seine Karriere und wurde im Anschluss zum stellvertretenden Geschäftsführer bei Würth Hardware & Tools Company in Shanghai berufen.

In den folgenden Jahren leitete Herr ZHONG die Würth Gruppe China mit Sitz in Tianjin und sieben dazugehörigen Niederlassungen. Unter der Führung von ZHONG Wanli konnte das Unternehmen eine jährliche Gewinnsteigerung von über dreißig Prozent verzeichnen, was seine hervorragenden Führungsqualitäten und unternehmerischen Fähigkeiten unterstreicht. Als Geschäftsführer von Tianjin wurde er auch mit dem Aufbau des Standorts Shenyang im neugegründeten Würth Gewerbepark mit Vertriebsgesellschaft und Logistikzentrum betraut. ZHONG Wanli war zudem Vorstandsmitglied der deutschen Handelskammer in Tianjin.

Seit 2015 ist Herr ZHONG als Interim Manager und strategischer Managementberater bei Seres Management tätig und hat parallel dazu auch ein Handelsunternehmen für DIN- und Normteile wie auch Werkzeuge in Tianjin, China aufgebaut. Mit ihm im Team haben wir eine wertvolle Person mit exzellentem Wissen in verschiedenen Branchen und Jahrzehnte langer praktischer Erfahrung.

EXPERTS: Richard Hoffmann

Herr Richard Hoffmann ist der Rechtsexperte von Seres Management und bringt sein umfangreiches Wissen und seine langjährige Erfahrung bei den Projekten in Asien mit ein. Nach seinem Jurastudium begann seine Karriere in einer Boutique-Kanzlei in Heidelberg (Deutschland) und in New York (USA). 2006 zog er nach China und sechs Jahre später wurde er Gründer wie auch Partner der Rechts- und Steuerkanzlei von Ecovis Beijing (mit Dependance in Tianjin), welche Finanz- und Rechtsdienstleistungen, Buchhaltung, Wirtschaftsprüfung und Lohnbuchhaltung angeboten hat. Seitdem betreut er erfolgreich Unternehmen aus verschiedenen Branchen.

Seit fast zehn Jahren ist Richard Hoffmann eines von sechs Mitgliedern des Marketing Boards bei ECOVIS International sowie im Quality Development Board, Management Board und der Legal Task Force.

In seiner Freizeit steht bei ihm oft High Intensity Training an, um dann den Abend bei einem Glas Wein ausklingen zu lassen.

THE RELAUNCH

It has been almost ten years since Seres Management was founded in January 2013, shortly after my relocation from Beijing, China, back to Vienna. Seres Management started as a one-man company offering an interim service manager for Western subsidiary companies in China during challenging times. Since then, the business model has changed drastically. Now, there is a team of three serving investors and top managers in regard of Asia challenges. The competence region now not only covers China but whole region of Greater China and Southeast Asia. From managing a single entity before to now being in the Boards of holding companies with numerous subsidiaries in Asia, we now offer the adequate package for our clients, may it be the provision of an interim manager, offering strategic management advice, coach investors and top management or filling the role of the Board Director having Asia expertise.

Seres Management stands out when it comes to hands on management experience in Asia and all team members have excellent cross-cultural skills.

The new business model was presented last weekend in the Bavarian mountains to a selected round of strategic business partners. One of the most important steps here is the launch of the new Seres Management website where we just launched the go live.

So 2023 will bring changes for our valued clients by offering them more tailored solutions for enhancing investments and Asia and optimizing operations locally. Our service offerings target investors and top management in Europe and the North America.

Here, Seres Management will be the key partner for establishing a stable and professional bridge between headquarters and operations in Asia.

CHINA IS OPENING UP

The good news is that China is opening up. Mass testing was almost completely scrapped and citizens will need no more a QR code to enter any public places. Yet, incoming travellers still need to quarantine 7+3 days. Rumour has it that quarantine conditions improved drastically, here better service offerings and food at the quarantine hotels. A full opening up of the country can be expected before mid-2023.

David Schulte

David Schulte先生是一位具有出色分析能力的经济学家,他在维也纳工商管理大学获得了国际商务学位。同时,他还在维也纳大学完成了他关于中国研究的学士学位。他还曾在美国加州的Paradise High School交换一年。David Schulte先生曾获得大学奖学金,在北京语言大学学习中文,并在北京为他的硕士论文进行研究。

毕业以后,David Schulte先生加入了Wuerth集团,在首席执行官Robert FRIEDMANN先生的领导下,推动了Wuerth集团在中国的发展。David Schulte先生因此去了天津、北京和沈阳等地。后来,他在收到奥地利高科技公司Getzner集团的邀请后离开了Wuerth集团。在这个职位上,他负责在昆山建立一家合资公司以及在北京建立一家销售公司,为高速铁路提供本地生产的减震产品。

2010年,David Schulte先生因其在促进高科技公司发展方面的工作而被授予昆山市荣誉市民奖。

Zhong Wanli

在中国的南京工业大学毕业后,他开始在XXX担任建筑工程师。在那里,他深入了解了在此方面的管理工作,特别是在国家主导以及高度竞争的建筑领域。

2001年,钟先生作出决定,在Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences读MBA。在大学学习期间,他在斯图加特(德国)的机场做兼职餐厅服务员,直到2002年。他的职业生涯是从Adolf Wuerth KG公司的实习生开始的,后来,他成为上海Wuerth五金工具有限公司的副总经理。
